Theme Statement Assignment

In groups (collaborations as I would refer to them), you have had the chance to put your heads together to come up with the best possible theme statements for all 15 short stories.

As you have discovered, this assignment is not a simple task. Figuring out how to best express an author's statement of reality or universal truth takes lots of time. Never would you have thought that writing 15 sentences would be so daunting.

What I am requiring you to accomplish is the following:

1. All groups are to create a word document with all 15 theme statements numbered and in order of the schedule. Remember to include the author and title of each short story.
2. The header should include all group member's first and last names, my last name, and AP Literature.
3. Select one group member to attach and e-mail the document to regan.killackey@edmondschools.net by this Friday, October 1st.

All groups are allowed to research all stories to verify your ideas and lines of logic, BUT simply ripping an idea from an academic site would not suffice for credit. Remember why you are doing this: you must practice locating and expressing the purpose of literature in order to quickly compose an organized, sophisticated response (along with handling advanced multiple choice questions).

I suggest meeting outside of class one time this week. Exchange cell phone numbers, facebook information--whatever works.
